Cph8 (Cph1-Envz-Fusionprotein) with RBS
Cph8 is the fusion of Cph1, a red-light sensitive phytochrome, and the EnvZ histidine kinase, which phosphorylates OmpR and thus enables its repressing function in the ompC promoter region.
Cph1 needs the chromophore Phycocyanobilin to be able to absorb red light. Phycocyanobilin can be synthesizes from heme using heme oxigenase (ho1) and ferredoxin oxireductase (PcyA). The corresponding Biobrick can be found here: BBa_K909001
This is an updated version of BBa_K909002 including a strong ribosomal binding site BBa_B0034.
